The Happy Planet Index confirms what we've always believed: It's a good thing to live on a tropical beach.
A country's HPI is calculated as follows:
Life satisfaction x Life expectancy
Putting Vanutu and Colombia on top. Whoda thought it? Life satisfaction seems a pretty difficult thing to measure against a global norm, and that ecological footprint is a killer! Take the survey yourself. Here's my result:
